About

Learn to use woodworking tools safely, efficiently and with precision while you build a project such as a desk organizer or a tool tote. You will be able to customize the design to suit the way you plan to use your project.

This isn't an "assemble-a-kit"  class. You will be planning, cutting, gluing and getting your project ready for finish — and, we hope, getting excited about woodworking.

Projects are subject to the instructor's approval, with one key criteria being that your design is streamlined enough to complete within the three sessions of this class.

Details:

  • This class is for youth 12-14 years old. Class dates are January 10, 24 & 31.
  • Registration will close on Saturday, 01/08 at 5:00pm.
  • When you register your youth, please enter their name in the Youth's Name field and enter the parent/guardian email address for "registrants email". All reminders and important information will go to the email address you register with.
  • Please complete and return this minor permission form.
  • Please review our safety protocols before registering. BARN wide safety protocols can be found here
  • There is a materials fee of $20 included in the price of class.
  • Tuition assistance is available. Click here to complete our simple form before you register.
  • You must wear safety glasses and closed-toe shoes, tie back long hair, and avoid loose-fitting clothing and jewelry. We recommend bringing your own safety glasses.
Instructors: David Grant, assisted by Val Tollefson and Rick Gibb, all experienced woodworkers who volunteer as safety monitors in the BARN Woodworking Studio.
