About

Take a deep dive into the creation of classic comic strip characters! You'll learn the importance of proportion in drawing, how to measure and draw by eye, and how to enlarge small characters. Your instructor will weave a thread of art history throughout to give you a broader understanding of how comic characters came into being. You may be inspired to create your own!

  • You'll choose from a wide range of comic characters with differing levels of complexity.
  • Designed for ages 8-15.

Details

A $10 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers all the materials you'll need (paper and graphite and colored pencils).

Instructor
Sher Swaim

Sher Swaim received her BFA in painting from the University of Illinois and did post-baccalaureate work at the University of Florida. Before locating to Port Ludlow, Sher owned and operated Sher’s Art Gallery and for 33 years taught classes in drawing, pastels, painting and ceramics for all ages.
