Writing, Pitching, and Submitting Genre Fiction
Over the course of seven weeks, participants will first generate ideas for an original piece of genre fiction (mystery, horror, romance, historical, experimental, etc.) between 1,500 and 6,000 words long, based on specific provided prompts, and then workshop that piece in preparation for its submission for publication. Also, participants will learn about the contemporary marketplace for short genre fiction and how to select the best venues for their particular story.
