Woodworking Open Studio
Work on projects of your own in an informal setting with a safety monitor and woodworkers of varying skill levels.
This is a time to use the equipment in a collaborative atmosphere where tips are shared and hands are offered when needed. A trained monitor is always on duty.
Details
- Free for members. Guests pay a $20 drop-in fee.
- Schedule:
- Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 AM - 3 PM
- Thursdays, 3 - 9 PM
- Saturdays and Sundays, Noon - 6 PM
Materials
- BARN provides basic tools and shop supplies, such as sandpaper.
- Bring your own wood, hardware, etc.
Prerequisites
- Orientation to the Woodworking Studio.
- Both Woodworking tool safety checkout classes.
- Checkout 1 covers jointers, planers, table saws, miter saw, and drill presses.
- Checkout 2 covers the bandsaws, routers and router tables, scroll saws, and four stationary sanding machines: edge, drum, disk and spindle.
Class Policies
- Ages 14 and up are welcome.
- Wear safety glasses and closed-toe shoes, tie back long hair, and avoid dangling clothing and jewelry. We recommend bringing your own safety glasses.
