About

To make long, straight cuts, woodworkers typically turn to the table saw. But when the wood is heavy or the cut angle is tight, it's often easier to move a saw through the wood, rather than the wood through the saw.

That's where a track saw excels. It's a hand-held circuclar saw that rides on a rail, creating a cut that's straight and at the angle you select, without the wobble that can happen when a similar cut is made with an ordinary circular saw. The resulting cuts are as accurate as if you made them on a table saw.

In this class, you will learn to use the two Festool-brand track saws in BARN's  shop. You will learn how to select and set up the track, how to adjust the blade depth and angle, and how to position your work to ensure a safe, accurate cut.

This is not a "project" class. All cuts will be on practice wood.
