About

Grain unites current manufacturing technologies and age-old craft techniques to create made-to-order furniture, lighting, textiles and objects at their Bainbridge Island studio and through collaborations with expert artisans in North America.

Architects and interior designers around the world have specified Grain’s work in residential and commercial projects, and Grain products have been sold by The Museum of Modern Art, Design Within Reach and other retailers. Grain also offers expertise in design and product development for companies interested in uniting sustainability and business through design. Their clients include companies such as Anthropologie, Areaware, Calvin Klein Home and Schoolhouse Electric & Co.

At this presentation, Chelsea and James Minola plan to discuss how their values have always informed the work that they do, the importance of collaboration and community in small business, how they integrate robotics and other technologies into their work, the ways that they connect to clients and the larger design world, and their new-found enthusiasm for all things cork.

The monthly woodworkers' presentations always offer an informative program on some aspect of woodworking. Enjoy  coffee and nibbles. Free and open to all — no need to register.
