Brian Paulson, sales representative for Daly's Wood Finishing Products, will be the speaker and will bring a selection of products so people at the meeting can try them out and see first-hand how they differ. Paulson will discuss wood preparation, types and application of stains, and the differences between penetrating and surface finishes. Although he will focus on Daly's products, he is also happy to answerquestions about wood finishes in general.

Paulson learned the nuances of wood finishes as he grew up because his father, Herb Paulson, was a chemist who developed most of the Daly's formulas. Herb was also the nephew of the Daly's founder, Walter J. Daly. The company stayed in the family (Herb eventually became a co-owner) and continued to manufacture its products in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood until 2014. Then Farwest Paint Mfg. Co. in Tukwilla took over the manufacturing operations. And at the beginning of 2015, Farwest purchased the company. Farwest is continuing Daly's as a distinct brand.
