This month we will have a special presentation by Indianola furniture maker Tim Celeski on the history, design and construction of workbenches, the most important tool in a woodworker’s shop. Tim will cover workbench history, good bench design and what to consider when you're thinking about building or buying a workbench, illustrating his presentation with pictures, videos, and workbench designs. 

Tim’s very first woodworking project was to build a bench and ever since, workbench design has been a passion of his for nearly 20 years. After spending two years designing, planning and building his second workbench he created a website dedicated to helping other woodworkers to build their own benches. Workbenchdesign.net is by far the most popular internet website on the subject of workbenches and has had over 5.5 million page views over the last 15 years.

The monthly membership meetings are also a time to share. So bring projects that you've completed and want to show off, or ones that you're contemplating or are stalled on and want advice about.

The business portion of the meeting will include an update on upcoming programs and a discussion about what sort of programs we should plan.
