About

BARN member:  $11
Non-member:    $20
One two-hour class

Learn the basics of safe use of the miter saw, band saw, scroll saw and drill press.

Part of the BARN Woodshop’s Woodworking 101 series, this class is designed to help you become certified to use these tools during Open Studio times.

No experience is necessary, but before the class, students should read the safety information that will be sent to registrants. This will maximize the amount of hands-on time in the class and enable students to ask about any details they do not understand. Each student will be provided with wood for practice cuts on each tool. There will be a $10 materials fee, payable to the instructor at the class.

NOTE: The first six people to sign up will be able to participate at the date and time listed. Additional sections will be added if demand warrants. Please email if the class is full and you would like to be on a list for the next class.

INSTRUCTOR: Jeff Williams has built upon his family's long line of woodworking. His great grandfather was a finish carpenter, his grandfather created furniture for Hearst Castle in California, and his father built their first house.   During and after his career in the fire service, Jeff has built specialty furniture pieces in his shop on Bainbridge. He looks forward to passing on what he's learned to interested students through the BARN Woodworkers.

Sam Bardelson will assist in this class.
