About

Introduction to Welding Studio Power Tools

The Fabrication and Project Classes and Assisted Studios are based on students' ability to safely and comfortably use hand and stationary power tools available in the welding studio for cutting, grinding, and preparing materials.

This class or prior shop experience is a prerequisite for Fabrication and Project classes.  Contact the Studio Lead if you have questions.

Students who are not familiar with the use of power tools in the Welding Studio (chop saw, horizontal and vertical band saws, drill press, hand and stationary grinders and/or "porta-band") should participate in the free Welding: Introduction to Power Tools before participating in the Fabrication Class.  The class -- Welding: Introduction to Power Tools is free but requires registration. Please see our calendar here for these classes.

This class does not cover welding equipment which is covered in MIG and TIG #1 and #2.

Please register for this free class.

The class begins with a safety briefing.

Safety and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be provided by BARN.
Students must wear natural fiber clothing, closed toe shoes, no stretch fabrics.

Minimum class size is 2.  If only one student has registered 48 hours before the class, the class will be cancelled.

If you have questions please contact Henry Sharpe, Studio Lead, HenrySharpe@gmail.com
