In this 3 session class you will make a messenger style purse from fabric strips woven on a floor frame loom.
The combinations of colors and textures are endless. Express yourself with a custom woven purse or make a beautiful gift.
Some weaving will need to be completed by the student either at home or during open Fiber Studio time between the scheduled classes. The entire project will take approximately 25 hours over the three week period.
Class Prerequisites: Previous experiences such as the BARN Intermediate Frame Loom Weaving class or equivalent experience is desirable. Please contact one of the instructors if you are interested in the class but have not done frame loom weaving before.
Instructors:
Constance Ducar took a frame loom weaving class at BARN two years ago and hasn’t stopped weaving since. She loves working with the different colors, patterns and textures of fabric that can be woven together on frame looms. She developed the pattern and techniques for weaving these lovely purses. Constance teaches the introductory frame loom weaving class at BARN. Constance also participates in the BARN glass studio.
Carol Latham will be assisting with this class. Carol had a fabric background and had taken up weaving when she attended the same frame loom class at BARN that Constance took. She loves the play with color that can be discovered with the frame loom! Carol assists in teaching the introductory frame loom weaving class at BARN.
Details: You must be 14 or older to take this class. Younger children may take the class if they are accompanied during each class with an adult.
