In this Fiber Studio Weave-along, you will learn the magic of making a cowl scarf. The two ends of the scarf are woven together to make a full cowl. In the first session, we will learn the warping secret. During the next week you will weave your length and then in second session, the magic of weaving the ends together will be revealed!  The link to the pattern below shows many examples of the hero cowl. This weave-along is just in time for holiday gift making!!!

What supplies you should bring:

  • Rigid Heddle Loom (bring your own or use a studio loom)
  • Reed: 7.5 or 8dpi Rigid Heddle Reed
  • Yarn: 2x100g DK weight yarn in contrasting colors (that being said, you can play around with yarn and reed sizes)

  • Free to members, please register. Guests please pay the open studio fee for $20.00 per session. 
  • BARN will be practicing safety measures for the health and well-being of all participants, in accordance with state and CDC guidelines. Please review our safety protocols before registering. BARN wide safety protocols can be found here. Fiber Studio specific safety protocols can be found here.
  • Skill Level: Basic rigid heddle weaving skills 
  • Ages 14+ Welcome.
