BARN is pleased to welcome world renowned weaver, Jason Collingwood to teach Using Twill Patterns in Rug Weaving.  In this three-day class, you will work in designs using straight twill, broken twill, and twill on opposites. You will use multiple colors in your designs, along with other rug-making techniques such as clasped wefts, stripes, and accents to create a beautiful and sturdy rug. 

The class will be three full days, from 10-4 each day. The emphasis for the class is learning techniques, not on producing a rug.  

Skill Level Required: Advanced Beginner or Higher. This is not a beginning weaving class. Students must be able to read patterns and weave independently on a floor loom.

Loom Rental: BARN has a limited number of floor looms available for this class. Looms are free to BARN members; non BARN members must pay $25 to rent a loom. Upon registering you will be asked if you intend to rent a BARN loom or bring your own. Please note, students may bring their own small floor loom or table loom to class.  The looms must be warped prior to class.

Cost for Workshop:  

• BARN Members - $275 
  
• Non-BARN Members $340.                                    
• There will be an additional Material costs of $15 per student. (Please bring cash or check made out to BARN to the first day of class).
  
• Please bring a bag lunch. BARN has a refrigerator to store your lunch in.

Instructor Bio: Jason Collingwood was taught how to weave by his father, Peter Collingwood, also a world renowned weaver.  Jason designs and weaves custom rugs for clients all over the world; he estimates he has made 2,500 rugs.  In addition to designing and weaving, Jason spends 3 – 4 months each year teaching in North America, Australia and Europe.
