Make a spinning top — or several — on the wood lathe. Even if you have never used a lathe, these traditional toys are so easy to make that you should be able to complete several in this class. When you're done, you'll have a toy that delights young and old. Or you can drill a hole in the spindle and hang the tops as ornaments.

All materials supplied. No experience is necessary.

Instructor: Bruce Claiborne began turning in earnest in 2008 after completing the 40-hour Craft Supply Basic Woodturning course under professional turner Kirk DeHeer. Bruce volunteers regularly at the Bainbridge High School Woods I and II classes to help students with their turning skills and projects. He is an active member of the Olympic Peninsula Chapter of the American Association of Woodturners.
