Learn Simple Quilting Techniques

Learn some quilting basics and add quilting to your creative repertoire while you make this charming, refillable journal cover. Learn to use decorative stitches for embellishment and how to quilt parallel lines through fabrics and batting.

You bring your curiosity and creativity, and BARN provides the sewing machine and all the needed materials in a choice of colorways for this project. At the end of class, take home a journal and quilted cover for yourself or a gift.

This class includes orienting you to BARN’s Presto sewing machines so you can come back and use a machine any time you like.

• A $15 materials fee is included in the price of the class, and provides the journal and fabric.

Instructor:

Dawna Ellis - Dawna began sewing more than 50 years ago as a Girl Scout. Nurturing those skills led her to become a costume designer and fabricator in the theatrical industry for 30 years. That experience and exposure to working with textiles in often unconventional ways solidified her love of textiles and their endless possibilities. Dawna continues to explore techniques to develop and hone her skills, is an avid quilter, and lives in Poulsbo with her husband and two dogs.
