About

Start with a quick orientation to BARN's sewing machines, and soon you'll be sewing straight seams. 

You’ll use pre-cut fabric strips to limit the time required for cutting, and you’ll finish the placemats with an easy zig-zag around the edges. You likely will complete two placemats during class. If you need more time, you can arrange a time to finish with the instructor.

This class is part of a series on table linens scheduled for spring. Join us, and dress your table with your beautiful handmade napkins, placemats, and table runner!  Other classes in this series are Beginning Quilting: Spring Table Runner and Mitered-Cornered Napkins.

Details

• Skill Level: All Levels. No prior sewing experience is needed. More experienced sewists also are welcome to learn the technique and get oriented on the machines, if needed.
• A $25 materials fee is included in the cost of the class, and covers pre-cut fabric, batting, basting spray, and thread.

Project

Two 16" x 30" placemats. You may be inspired to make a set for every season!
