About

BARN member:  $15
Non-member:    $22
One  2½ -hour class

Make a simple pine tote as you learn how to use basic tool box tools efficiently and accurately. You'll get to try out different types of measuring tools, saws, hammers,  clamps, and pliers, learning for yourself the wisdom behind the old maxim about always using the right tool for the job.

No experience is necessary, and all materials and tools will be supplied. There will be a $10 materials fee, payable to the instructor at the class.

INSTRUCTOR: Jeanne Huber made a lot of mistakes as she worked on her own home, then got a chance to learn from pros in the preservation carpentry program at North Bennet Street School in Boston. She worked briefly as a finish carpenter in Cambridge before becoming an editor at This Old House magazine. She currently writes a weekly how-to column for the Washington Post.

David Grant will assist in this class.
