Open to 14 years old and up

Learn how to sharpen planes, chisels and other cutting tools in a quick and easy way, and also in a more traditional way.

Time permitting, participants who bring their planes and chisels will have the opportunity to sharpen them under the supervision of the instructor. BARN members can also use the WorkSharp at any open studio time (see the BARN woodworking calendar for specifics). Non-members can participate in open studio time up to five times a year, for $10 per session.

NOTE: The first six people to sign up will be able to participate at the date and time listed. Additional sections will be opened if demand warrants.

INSTRUCTOR: A hand tool devotee, Dick Culp has taken many classes at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking and will be sharing what he's learned. He serves on the school's Board of Directors and was a director of Bainbridge Island Community Woodshop until it merged with BARN at the end of 2013.
