Pot melts are a great way to use scraps of glass to create a unique works of art. When the scraps are heated in a kiln in a clay pot at a high temperature, the syrupy glass will flow into a circular pattern.

These circular disks can be slumped or used in other fusing projects. Join Carol Baker who will explain this process step-by-step. You can then practice on your own during Open Studio.

Techniques speaker: Carol Baker’s introduction to glass art began with stained glass mosaics while she was living in Virginia in 2005.  After completing many mosaic projects and looking for a creative challenge, she purchased her first kiln and Lazy Dog Glass Studio was born.  Carol has always appreciated a more functional form of art and strives to create beautiful pieces that can be enjoyed in everyday life. In 2012, she relocated to Bainbridge Island where she continues to study fused glass and to advance her knowledge of the intricacies of warm glass art.
