Join us at the BARN glass studio to learn the technique of creating a stunning frit ball bowl. We will guide you step by step through the process so that you have a full understanding of the technique.  At the conclusion of the session you will be prepared to craft your own frit ball bowl during a BARN Open Studio time or in your own studio.

Frit balls are a design element that can add an elegant or fun touch to a variety of different glass fusing projects. Using coarse frit (small shards of glass) that is heated to 1500 F you can create small glass balls.

Techniques speaker: Carol Baker’s introduction to glass art began with stained glass mosaics while she was living in Virginia in 2005.  After completing many mosaic projects and looking for a creative challenge, she purchased her first kiln and Lazy Dog Glass Studio was born.  Carol has always appreciated a more functional form of art and strives to create beautiful pieces that can be enjoyed in everyday life. In 2012, she relocated to Bainbridge Island where she continues to study fused glass and to advance her knowledge of the intricacies of warm glass art.
