Discover the depth and texture you can create through stitching as you create your own unique mushroom! Choose a basic color scheme to work with as you appliqué and layer pieces to build dimension. Then learn embroidery stitches to create texture on your mushroom.

You will learn six key embroidery stitches to bring your mushroom to life: bullion, knot coral, drizzle, double-threaded backstitch, fly stitch, French knot and whipped woven circle. We'll also use cork and sea grass to create even more texture.

• A $10 materials fee is included in the price of the class. 

Details

A $10 materials fee included in the cost of the class covers the in-studio use of:

• Small scissors
• Marking pencil
• Needle threader
• Individual working lamps

You will take home the following to complete your project:

• A diagram of the piece with stitches
• The wool mushroom sampler
• Two needles (#24 Chenille & #3 Milliners)
• Three thread choices, brown and sea grass thread
• Appliqué Pins
• 6 ½” x 4” wool piece

Project

Create a 4” x 6” embroidered and embellished mushroom appliqué.  You’ll use a variety of stitches taught during the class.
