About

Class canceled: In response to updated guidance from the CDC and the Washington State Department of Health, BARN will continue to be closed through the end of April. 3/23 SK

Create dynamic Tentacle earrings in a couple easy steps. Using a butane torch you will learn to create balled head pins, you will then learn to shape them and wrap them into an interesting earring shape. Then using Vintaj patina you can color the metal or use Liver of Sulphur to oxidize the metal to create an aged appearance.

Details:

  • This is a beginning / intermediate level class.  Some wire wrapping experience is helpful but not needed.
  • $15 materials fee is included in class tuition.
  • Please wear closed-toe shoes. Wear hearing protectors when warranted and safety glasses; bring your own or use BARN's. Tie back long hair. Avoid loose-fitting clothing and jewelry; roll up sleeves.

Instructor: Samantha Slater, originally from South Africa, Samantha's life in Seattle has drawn her toward the concepts and process of jewelry making. She taught classes at Fusion Beads for over 10 years, she has also guest lectured at Pratt Fine Arts Center and is currently teaching at  Barn, NW Rockhounds, Seattle Findings, and Schack Art Center, as well as privately at her studio in Seattle. It is her desire to not only create beautiful art and jewelry but share her knowledge so others can do the same.
