Registration: All teens must be registered ahead of time in order to participate in Teen Night and all included studio activities. If a teen is dropped off without prior registration, they'll need to wait in the lobby until they can be picked up.

Activity Swapping: Teen Night participants can no longer change which activity they're in when they arrive. Please make sure each attendant is registered for their preferred activity ahead of time.

A fantastic way to spend a Friday evening! Start with a pizza dinner and some time to socialize. Next, head to your chosen activity in one of our studios. Be sure to choose the activity you want to do the most! Once you're finished with the activity, come hang out in The Commons again for dessert while you show off what you made.

Details

  • The event is free, but registration is required.
  • Find you can't make it after you register? Let us know so we can open your spot to others (email registrar@bainbridgebarn.org).
  • Registration closes when the limit is reached. If it’s full, join the waitlist. You'll be notified by email if a space becomes available.
  • All teens will be asked to check in and confirm their emergency contact information upon arrival.
  • Questions? Contact the Registrar at BARN at (206) 842-4475 or email registrar@bainbridgebarn.org.

Activities

This month's activities:

Quick Breads for Food Banks - Culinary Arts (6 student maximum): You will have fun whipping up pear spice quick breads that will be frozen and delivered to our local food banks (Helpline House and Fishline). You will learn about food safety and how to work in a commercial kitchen environment.

Drawing Comic Strip Characters - Drawing & Painting (8 student maximum): Using well-known comic strips as reference, you'll learn and practice drawing skills like sketching, proportions, and color, while learning a little about the artists behind the characters.

Needle Felting - Fiber Arts (8 student maximum): You will use fluffy wool fibers and a barbed needle to create your own designs on premade woollen balls. Your finished creations can be used as ornaments, decor, or functional dryer balls!

Fused Glass Birds - Glass Arts (6 student maximum): Create your own bird-inspired fused glass artwork and let your creativity take flight. If you’re okay with it, your artwork will be displayed in the Barn’s Commons throughout the month of October, with artwork available for pickup at the beginning of November.  This exhibition is in conjunction with BARN’s celebration of Refract: The Seattle Glass Experience.

Teen Improv - Media Arts (14 student maximum): Have fun playing improv games where we work together to make up scenes on the spot from random suggestions. You'll spend the evening laughing and discovering that it can be fun getting up in front of an audience of your peers.

Cosclay Sculpture (6 student maximum): In BARN's first sculpture activity for teens, you will get to see finished sculptures, come up with your own ideas, use sculpting tools, and create something all your own.

Mini Junk Journal - Print & Book (6 student maximum): Come make mini junk journals by hand. Once you learn this technique, you will be able to make journals of any size on your own.

Wooden Pencil Holder - Woodworking (10 student maximum): Using only hand tools, you will learn some basic woodworking techniques as you build your own wooden pencil holder.

Casual Crafts (12 student maximum): Create with seven different craft options. Spend your time perfecting one, sample a few, or try your hand at all seven. You're welcome to bring your own project to work on as well.
