About

In this two-session workshop, you will create a 4” x 21” fused glass sculpture, and assemble and paint a simple wooden stand in which to display it.

Session one, you will select, cut, arrange, and layer glass in a colorful and artistic fashion. The piece will be flat fired in the Glass Studio’s kiln.

Session two, you will work on the wooden stand, sanding, gluing, and painting/staining it. The result? A fantastic stand for your tall sculpture.

Note: The second session may not last four hours. You will need to provide a paint or stain if you want some color other than black or cherry.

Details:

  • Open to all levels, beginners and enthusiasts.
  • There is a materials fee of $48 included in the total tuition to cover the wood stand and glass.
  • Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants in the studio. This policy is strictly enforced for your safety.

Instructor bio:

Teri Smith has created fused glass art for over ten years. She particularly enjoys working with vivid colors, the reflective and transparent effects of the medium, the play of light, and the textural aspects of glass and mostly designs functional and decorative pieces.
