Knitting a sweater is a commitment. You put a lot of time and money into it and you want to be proud of the results. In this small, hands-on class you will chart a “classic” long sleeve, crew neck sweater with a set-in sleeve based on your yarn, your gauge and your body measurements. This style is based on your bust/chest measurement and is worked straight to the armholes before you start shaping.

Once you chart this basic sweater, we’ll talk about ease, the tapered body and other variations.

The product of the class is not a sweater but a "picture pattern.” Depending your learning style, this can be a pattern for a real sweater or you can do it as an exercise in charting. Even if you do it as an exercise the result is a personally sized pattern for charting real sweaters that fit you no matter what yarn and needles you use. Before attending I recommend that you watch Sweater Finishing 101, a video from 1992 which is a companion to the book (you'll love the hairdo).
