About

Want to learn to weave this summer? You will start with a lap loom—sized to fit in your lap—and create a small wall hanging while practicing basic techniques. Over four afternoons you will learn how to “warp” the loom, create patterns using at least two colors of “weft” yarn, and learn how to finish your weaving.  As time allows, you may be able to finish a second weaving project, exploring a different type of loom, or creating another lap loom project.

Details:

  • Registration will close on Sunday, August 1 at 1:00 PM.
  • This class is for youth 12-16 years old.
  • To register your youth, please put in the "First Name" field your first name then in parenthesis put the youth's first and last name (if different than yours). The email address you register with is where all reminders will be sent.
  • Please click here to register youth for an optional supervised lunch hour from 12-1pm for the week of this class.

  • BARN will be practicing safety measures for the health and well-being of all participants, in accordance with state and CDC guidelines. Students and instructors will be required to wear masks, wash or sanitize hands frequently, maintain a distance of six feet between individuals, and stay home if they are sick.  More details can be found here.

Instructor Bio: Catherine Camp will share her enthusiasm for weaving. She has been weaving at BARN over the past three years. She was raised with a gaggle of sisters where sewing, knitting, and crafts spread throughout every room in their home.
