About

For youth ages 9 - 12

In this 5 session, 2 hours a day class, youth explore the world of engineering using the MaKey MaKey invention kit. MaKey MaKey is an innovative circuit board kit that enables kids to create inventions by wiring up everyday objects to a computer. Check out this video to see the MaKey MaKey in action:

MaKey MaKey - An Invention Kit for Everyone from jay silver on Vimeo.

Kids will use the MaKey MaKey to create guided projects including banana pianos, play-dough bongos, and pipe cleaner game controllers. They will also work in teams to design and build their own inventions, which we will demo to parents on the last night of class.

The goal of this camp is to foster the "maker mindset," encouraging kids to bring their ideas to life and embrace the creative process of designing, collaborating, building, making mistakes, and trying again!

For more information about MaKey MaKey (including a gallery of student inventions) please see their website: https://makeymakey.com

Important Notes:

Please complete this permission slip and bring it to the first day of class.
