About

In the week-long session, you'll learn how to read and understand the qualities of how to write a film scene, share your favorite film clips with other classmates for a group discussion. and review clips from movies the instructor has made to understand the mechanics of the film production process. You'll also:

  • Recreate a scene from an existing movie scene-by-scene by breaking down each shot and copying it.
  • Experiment with adapting a short existing film script to make it your own.
  • Practice shooting the existing short film script using lessons learned from other movies.
  • Gain a basic understanding of film editing software available on cellphones and computers, so you can work on your own to edit the project you filmed in class.

  • Ages 12-14.
  • Skill level: Introductory level, although the workshop may be scaled for you if you are an intermediate-level student. Skill levels should be communicated with the instructor in advance.
  • Bring water and a snack.
  • Bring your own cellphone or tablet
  • Registration closes Monday, July 21.

A $30 materials fee, included in the class price, covers everything you'll need.

Brianna Torres

Brianna Torres is an award-winning filmmaker from the Sonoran Desert. She arrived on Bainbridge Island via Los Angeles where she worked in film and television. As the Media Arts Programming Coordinator, she is excited about bringing in quality classes for the community. Her favorite pastimes include running on forest trails, working as a floral designer and exploring with her family.
