About

We all love TV, right?! If you've ever wondered how it's done, there's no better way than to actually make a TV episode yourself.
We will pick the genre (sitcom, drama, sci-fi, sketch comedy, etc.), then we will learn how to write a quick script, shoot, direct, act, edit, and view our creation. Everyone will get a chance to touch every aspect of the show.

  • For students ages 12-18.
  • Skill Level: Beginner
  • Registration closes Monday, July 17.
  • A materials fee of $20 is included in the price of the class and covers all materials. See below for what students should bring.

Details

    Students must bring a smartphone or tablet (iPhone, iPad, Android device to shoot and edit on) and/or laptop for editing.

    Project

    Students will make a project of two or fewer minutes, along their own theme or one chosen by the class.

          Instructor
          Courtney Jones

          Courtney G. Jones is a 30-year veteran of the film and television industry who has long been an advocate of the kind of accessibility mobile filmmaking offers. He serves as head of development for Steve Zahn & Rick Gomez’s company, Macaroni Art Productions. He has produced and directed feature films, commercials, documentaries, and series - some of which have been shot on mobile. He brings a wealth of technical and creative know-how to the classroom. Courtney’s main goal is to show that anyone can make something amazing with the technology that's in their pocket. When he's not writing, producing, filming, editing, or teaching, he’s typically daydreaming about flying, living on a boat, or trying new recipes.
