Make your own monster! Learn the basics of crochet, including how to start and finish projects, fundamental crochet stitches, and how to read and follow crochet patterns.

You'll then make a crochet amigurumi project. "Amigurumi" is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures. Your project will be an amigurumi monster named, appropriately, "Eyeballs." You'll have the skills after this to make a companion for Eyeballs if you like.

A materials fee of $22, included in the class price, covers everything you'll need.

Instructor
Robyn Weimer

Robyn learned to crochet from her grandmother in high school, along with many other needle arts including macrame, needlepoint, crewel, and cross stitch. She did many crochet projects over several years, until her children and career squeezed out the time to continue. After retiring in 2019, she resumed crochet and other needle arts and gratefully found that the muscle memory came back quickly. After moving back to the Pacific Northwest in 2021, she joined BARN and now participates in the Fiber Arts, Woodworking, and Tech Lab studios. She’s interested in learning new skills and finding opportunities for cross-studio collaboration.
