About
Get woodworking experience as you build a sturdy but elegant chair with an ingenious design - the seat and back are separate pieces that slide together and interlock when you want a chair. But if you want to pop the chair into a car before a picnic or stow it away for winter, you can separate the sections without any tools, leaving you two nearly flat, easy-to-carry pieces.
You will learn how the properties of wood influenced the design details of this chair. Then you will lay out the parts and use a variety of power tools to cut and smooth the legs and the slats. You will attach the slats to the legs with screws.
