Learn how to make computer-assisted, animated movies this summer! Work in small teams, combining skills in art, story telling and computer wizardry to develop and produce a short animated film. Movies will include: animated titles, characters, voice-over narration and music. iPhones and iPads will be used to shoot, edit and record video, as well as add sound. You may bring your own device if you have one.
Learn a variety of techniques, including:
- Story-boarding
- Stop motion
- Cut-out animation
- Animation of clay, Lego characters and other everyday objects
- Reverse animation to turn chaos into art
- Lighting
- Simple movie editing
- Voice-over recording
Details:
- This class is for youth 10-14 years old.
- To register your youth, please put in the "First Name" field, your first name then in parenthesis put the youth's first and last name (if different than yours).
- Please complete and return this minor permission form if BARN does not already have one on file for your child from a past class.
- Tuition assistance is available. Click here to apply.
- BARN reserves the right to cancel this class in the case of low enrollment and will notify families of this decision one week prior to the start of the class. A full refund will be given.

Instructor Bio:
Ken Rothmuller has been shooting images since getting his first camera as a teenager. Later in life he had both a B/W and color darkroom before switching over to a digital workflow. More recently he has had the opportunity to study under some great mentors, including: Jay Maisel, Joel Meyerowitz, Eddie Soloway, and Margo Davis.
Ken especially enjoys traveling with his camera allowing him to see new places more deeply, cementing memories and giving him the opportunity to interact with locals.
