About

We will be making soldered bezels and settings round or oval cabochon stones.  The settings we will make will be simple and my end up as a pendant or ring.  Students will be learning how to wrap a bezel, solder it to a base, file, (maybe) saw or use other hand tools, use a flex shaft, set a basic cabochon cut stone, sand, and have and introduction to polishing.

• This is a beginner / intermediate level class. 
• $25 materials fee is in included in the class tuition when you register.

If you have and want to use your own, stones or detail wires (bead wire, gallery wire or twist wire)

Instructor: Jody Lyle is a goldsmith with over 25 years of experience designing and making jewelry.  She has a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the University of North Texas where she studied with world-renowned enamel artist Harlan Butt.  She has continued here education over the years with apprenticeships, trade school training, and skill building classes.  She believes in learning by doing, and continues to home her skills, practicing and acquiring new techniques from other jewelers and is continually expanding the definition of her jewelry.
