Soft Pastel: Fall Harvest Still Life
Make a still life in this fun and simple introduction to working with soft pastels.
Learn to sketch and draw with pastels — pure, powdered pigment with a binder formed into sticks, kind of like crayons but with a more luminous color effect. You'll learn, through a step-by-step process, how to mix and layer your pastel colors. With your new skills, you'll create a beautiful still life from observation.

Materials
- A $10 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers pastels, paper, and fixative spray used during the class.

Ages 14 and up are welcome.
Instructor
Sher Swaim received her BFA in painting from the University of Illinois and did post-baccalaureate work at the University of Florida. Before locating to Port Ludlow, Sher owned and operated Sher’s Art Gallery and for 33 years taught classes in drawing, pastels, painting and ceramics for all ages.
