Modern, hands-free styling defines the Mail Sack. A roomy, cross-body bag ready for adventure. 

In this 2 session class you’ll take your basic sewing skills to the next level. You’ll learn how to:

•  layout a pattern;
•  read pattern instructions;
•  make a lining; 
• install a zipper;
• sew darts
  

This Class is targeted to Advanced Beginners: you have a good understanding of sewing basics and are ready to learn more! 

Experienced Sewists will also enjoy the class - this is an awesome pattern and you’ll want to make more!

You can bring your own sewing machine or use one of ours. If using your own machine locate your zipper foot and bring the manual.

Supply List (what students should bring to the first class meeting):

• Mail Sack Pattern by Pink Chalk Studio

• Fabric for making the Large or the Mini Mail Sack as specified on the pattern.

• Interfacing

• 9” All Purpose Zipper to match lining fabric

• All Purpose Polyester Thread to match your fabric

• General sewing supplies including fabric scissors, pins, and fabric marking pen.

Pattern and supplies available at Esther’s Fabrics. 

Please feel free to bring a sack lunch. BARN has a refrigerator to store your lunch in.

Teacher Bio: Kathy Mack is a Bainbridge Island quilter and sewist exploring color, pattern and texture through the practice of fiber arts.  Her work is characterized by vibrant colors, contrasting shapes, and bold compositions.  She enjoys sharing her sewing knowledge and passion for creative expression with others in the classroom and through participation in community groups.
