Create your own light-up ornament this the holiday season at BARN during this 3-hour, hands-on workshop for budding engineers 10+ years and older. Students will learn circuitry fundamentals, sketch out their designs, and construct a plush ornament of their own design using LEDs, conductive thread, and any other little sewing additions they choose to bring from home.
Details:
- This workshop is a great introduction to the world of e-textiles. While this project doesn’t involve any programming or soldering, students would benefit from some basic sewing experience (ie: tying knots, threading needles, simple stitching).
- Open to students 10 years and older. Supervising adults will require buying a ticket of their own – and will be provided materials to make their own creations alongside their child(ren). This is a great holiday activity for grandparents and grandchildren, or families with several siblings!
- Materials will be provided; however, students are welcome to bring special buttons, fabric scraps, and any other decorations items from home.
- Please click here for BARN's current COVID-19 health & safety protocols.
