Sashiko Patches
Enjoy the meditative joyful zen of Sashiko while you create two patches with traditional symbols.
In this 3-hour class, you'll practice creating Sashiko patterns through one simple rhythmic stitch while you create patches to add to clothing, accessories, and home goods.
Learn about the Sashiko tradition of sewing traditional symbols into garments for special meaning such as protection, luck, and abundance. You'll also learn Sashiko thread knotting, how to match needle lengths to pattern type, and how to monitor stitch length and count in each pattern you sew.
No experience required.
