A three session class is designed for the aspiring jewelry maker.
This is a beginner level class where some torch or soldering skills are required. Learn how to make post earrings with sheet metal and a disc cutter. Students will receive a step by step demonstration by the teacher, safety and tool use instruction and supervision through out the class.
Details:
- Please wear cotton clothing, no loose dangling item, close toed shoes and your hair tied back.
- If you wear glasses, please bring them as we will be working with very small objects.
- All tools and materials needed for this class will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own tools and material, just make sure they are visibly labeled.
- There is an additional $25 materials fee for metals, ear posts, and backs, etc. that will be added to the class cost when you register.
Instructor Bio:
Sarah Jones is a local Bainbridge Island artist and jeweler. With a background in ceramics and sculpting, Sarah started her journey into metal arts with studio lead Jane Martin back at Yeolmalt Cabin. She enjoys teaching beginners and youth because witnessing people have that “aha” moment never gets old. And introducing youth to hands on trade skills and opportunities is priceless.
Sarah Jones is also a studio monitor and on the BARN Jewelry/Fine Metal Arts steering committee
