Class canceled: In response to updated guidance from the CDC and the Washington State Department of Health, BARN will continue to be closed through the end of April. 3/23 SK

Learn how to create dapped metal cups and then learn how to rivet them onto leather to make a wrapped bracelet. Students will cut sheet metal into small discs, dap the discs into cups, rivet the discs onto leather and then finish the bracelet with a magnetic clasp.


Details:

  • This is a beginning level class.  No jewelry making experience necessary.
  • $50 materials fee is included in class tuition.
  • Please wear closed-toe shoes. Wear hearing protectors when warranted and safety glasses; bring your own or use BARN's. Tie back long hair. Avoid loose-fitting clothing and jewelry; roll up sleeves.


Instructor: Samantha Slater, originally from South Africa, Samantha's life in Seattle has drawn her toward the concepts and process of jewelry making. She taught classes at Fusion Beads for over 10 years, she has also guest lectured at Pratt Fine Arts Center and is currently teaching at  Barn, NW Rockhounds, Seattle Findings, and Schack Art Center, as well as privately at her studio in Seattle. It is her desire to not only create beautiful art and jewelry but share her knowledge so others can do the same.
