About

Log cabin is a versatile weaving pattern with lots of room for variation and creativity. In this guided project, you'll warp your loom and start weaving in the studio. After starting with us, you'll be able to complete your project on your own.

This weave-along is for those with basic rigid heddle loom experience or more experienced weavers who want to learn a new technique. If you haven't warped a rigid heddle loom before, check out our introductory rigid heddle class before this weave-along.

Details

  • Skill Level: Advanced Beginner (should have taken at least one rigid heddle class)

  • Free to members, $20 for guests.

Details

Participants should bring:

  • 2 skeins (220 yds) of worsted weight yarn in contrasting colors to make a warp about 10" wide and 6' long. For a wider or longer warp, or if you will be using a more closely space reed and finer yarn, bring proportionately more yarn in each of the two colors.
  • Yarn should be wound into a ball or cake.
  • Rigid heddle loom, any width, with a 7.5-8 dent reed

Project

You can choose a log cabin scarf or a log cabin table runner to start
