About
Join Sara Bixler in the weaving studio to explore the Scandinavian tradition of "reps mata," more commonly recognized as rep weave. This graphics warp-faced weave structure will be explored in a way that ensures even students new to weaving can achieve!
You'll be given a choice of six patterns and several color variations several weeks before the course. Patterns will vary from two-harness to eight-harness (if you’re looking for more of a challenge). During the workshop, you'll be given your pre-wound warp (you're welcome!). Sara and her helpful tips and tricks will guide you through the whole process step by step to effortlessly warp your loom. You'll hear an introduction to this wonderful structure, its history among Scandinavian weavers, material usage, how to plan for future projects, and much more.
You'll explore treading variations and the art of weaving by creating either one long table runner, or six placemats, or a combination of those!
