Expand your printmaking skills with this Pronto Plate Lithography workshop. We will use polyester printing plates or Pronto Plates to create our images for printing. During the 4 hour workshop, experienced artist and educator Dana Harris Seeger will show students step by step how to add imagery to their plates using drawing materials and even the laser printer.

Details

  • Students should bring design ideas or sketches with them. If they have any digital images they wish to print out, they can bring a thumb drive or digital file with them as well.
  • The plates will then be inked up and printed using the etching press.
  • Like all lithography, this process is based on the mutual repulsion of oil and water. Using oil based ink, gum arabic and water, we can print the same image multiple times!
  • The plates and prints will be taken home by students at the end of class.

Materials

  • A $20 materials fee, included in the class price, covers including ink, drawing materials, Pronto Plates and paper.

Class Policies

  • Ages 14 and up are welcome.
