About

This class was postponed because the instructor was unable to teach it at this time.

We are very excited to bring Catherine Alice Michaelis to the BARN for a one day workshop. This workshop is for beginning and advanced printmakers and book artists. Pressure Printing is a great technique for making images on paper and can be combined with other printing techniques. Come and learn this simple process. Everyone will learn to create playful and beautiful prints in a few easy steps. We will use a variety of materials to design and collage: paper, string, plants, glue, textiles, etc. Play, experiment, and walk away with a small edition of your final design.

A materials fee of $20 will be added to the cost of tuition when you register.

Instructor Bio: Catherine Alice Michaelis is the proprietor of May Day Press in Shelton, WA. She has been making letterpress books, prints, and other paper objects in the Pacific NW for over 25 years. You can see her at work pressure printing on Craft in America’s ‘Nature’ episode. Catherine’s work has been collected nationally in over 80 public institutions and can be viewed on her website Catherine-Alice.com
