Learn tricks for making pillows, how (and when) to put in a zipper, how to sew a pillow cover with piping, and other great tricks. How to use up pieces of weaving, fabric that you have painted on or dyed, and small pieces of fabric that you love but don't know what to do with. Mary Terry, an expert seamstress, will be there to answer your questions and help you design, sew, and complete a wonderful pillow cover. She will bring some fabric samples to use as well.

Bring to the workshop: a sewing machine, thread, pillow form, fabric for your pillow cover and other scrap materials (such as weaving samples, fabric samples, trims, lace), and a zipper to fit the size pillow cover you wish to make.

We won't break for lunch, but do bring a snack and water.

INSTRUCTOR: Mary Terry is a businesswoman who owned Esther's Fabrics for 13 years and then purchased Dana's Showhouse. Her business partner and she have owned it for eight years, growing it into Danger and Furnish Bainbridge. Mary is an avid seamstress and loves to decorate people's homes. "Comfortable, relaxing , personal homes are my goal," she says. Having sewn countless slipcovers and many other things, she will share her tips and tricks for creating the perfect pillow cover and more.
