About

Decorating paper for books has never been more fun. Using simple materials, we'll explore the vast possibilities of making marks on paper. We'll experiment with Japanese  orizomegami techniques, better known as dip and dye, and then move on to resist techniques, including wax paper, paraffin and crayon resists. These eye-catching papers may become a book's end pages, greeting cards, wall-hangings, book covers, and infinitely more. They are also great for use in printmaking for chine-collé.

Students will leave with at least a half-dozen decorated sheets, and a long list of possible uses for their orizomegami papers.

There will be a $10 materials fee.
