QUALIFY TO USE THE METAL MACHINING STUDIO'S SMITHY LATHE/DRILL/MILLING MACHINE AND THE METAL CUTTING BANDSAW!

In early January and again in February the Metal Machining Studio will conduct instruction courses on the operation of the current equipment in the studio. This includes the Smithy combination metal lathe, drill press and milling machine as well as the Jet metal cutting bandsaw.  This class is appropriate for beginners.

The courses will be FREE for BARN members. 

Once you qualify, you may use the Metal Machining Studio's equipment without supervision by a studio member. 

BARN recognizes that many members of other studios (especially Jewelry, Electronic & Technical Arts and Woodworking) may not have a full-blown metal machining project but have the need to use the metal machining equipment for a function where the other studio does not have the right equipment. For example, the Jewelry Studio has already used the Smithy lathe to smooth and polish their collection of dapping hammers.
