Join the Bainbridge knitting community of BARN, The Lamb and Kid, and La Mercerie for Andrea Mowry’s most recent pattern and Knit Along, the Ooey Gooey Cowl.  The Ooey Gooey Cowl is super cozy and a fun colorwork pattern.

Skills you'll learn and/or use:

  • Crochet provisional cast on. 
  • Stranded colorwork - charted ONLY. 
  • Knitting in the round. 
  • Decreasing. 
  • Kitchener stitch.

Details

  • The knit along takes place Sept 15, 2025 - Jan. 29, 2026.  
  • Visit The Lamb and Kid and La Mercerie for yarn suggestions and kits. 
  • Drop in to knit at any of our knitting circles for community connections and knitting help, if needed.
    • The Lamb and Kid: Wednesdays, 4-7 PM
    • La Mercerie: Wednesdays and Saturdays, 2-4 PM
    • BARN: Friday, Oct. 3, 17, 31; Nov. 14; Dec. 12; Jan. 9, 23; 1-3 PM
    • Cast on together at BARN on Oct. 3. 

Details

You should bring the following supplies:

  • Ooey Gooey Pattern by Andrea Mowry
  • Yarn:
    • MC - Sport weight Wool 75 g/300 yds/275 m 
    • CC - Lace weight Suri Alpaca (held double) 75 g/492 yds/450 m
  • Needles: Size US 4/3.5 mm -16”/40 cm circular needle, recommended. A second needle of the same size will be needed to finish the cowl (use the needle size you need to achieve gauge).
  • Crochet hook for provisional cast on (size E recommended).

Prerequisites

Must know how to knit, purl, cast on.

Class Policies

Ages 14 and up are welcome.

Sara Bantle

Sara connects to the world through movement, texture, color and fiber, drawing her inspiration from this natural and wild world we live in. Knitting has been her constant companion and gateway into fiber arts. She is an aspiring hat maker, weaver, dyer and sewist, working to find comfort in the beginners mind set, drawn to share her learnings with others.
