About

Experience the thrill of sharing learning welding together with your daughter or mother. This class is open to four students of any age in a mother/daughter constellation. No previous welding experience is necessary.

MIG is the easiest type of welding to learn and the most versatile. It has wide application from artistic endeavor to garden art to furniture or structural.

During the class you will learn welding safety and basic MIG welding techniques. You will discover the power and awe of using an electric arc to join pieces of metal and to make a small sculpture. Participants may work individually or as a mother/daughter team bonding over a shared project.

The class will cover shop safety, hazard awareness, and proper use of Personal Protection Equipment. Safety and Personal Protection Equipment will be provided by BARN.

Details:

  • All ages 12+ are welcome.
  • Safety and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be provided by BARN.
  • Students must wear natural fiber clothing, long sleeves and long pants, closed toe shoes (preferably leather or cotton), no stretch fabrics.

  • There is a materials fee of $15 for steel, gas, and filler wire that is included in the cost of the class.
