Mooncakes are the quintessential symbol of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a harvest celebrated for thousands of years throughout China and other Asian cultures. It is rooted in giving thanks for the autumn harvest and celebrating family unity.

Details

• Wei Nie and family will demonstrate how to make these distinctive mooncakes pastries: dough, traditional fillings, and molding techniques. 
• While mooncakes are baking, there will be a Q & A session, and an introduction of the varieties of mooncakes in different regions of China.
• BARN’s kitchen facility regularly uses ingredients on the FDA’s major allergens list. This demonstration uses: tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and sesame.
• This is a free demonstration but registration is required.
