About

If you've ever wanted two or more of the same piece, injectable molds are a great way to go. In this class, we make silicone molds that can be injected with wax to make duplicates.

The waxes can then be cast later in one of our lost wax casting classes or independent casting sessions.

One day one, we sprue two objects, and mix and pour the RTV material. On day two, we cut the molds and inject them with wax.

Details

  • Level: Beginner and beyond. No jewelry experience is needed, but casting experience is recommended. We won't be casting the finished wax model in this class, so you leave class with whatever wax model you have injected.
  • If you have no casting experience at BARN, we recommend taking Lost Wax Casting. This class fills quickly, so don’t delay enrolling!
  • The casting of finished wax is not included in this class.
  • We will take one 15-minute break if you want to bring food/ snacks. BARN has a refrigerator on the lower level.

Details

  • Please bring several small simple pieces of your own original work, carved waxes, non-copyrighted objects, or a piece of nature you might want to mold (no rubber or hollow objects). Bring options to choose from!
  • Mask
  • Apron
